U.S. Navy Seals: Myths, Legends and Facts
Formally founded in the 1960s with its origins in the bombing of Pearl Harbor in early 40's, the Navy SEAL (an abbreviation of "Sea, Air, and" the earth) is truly an enigmatic group.
The U.S. Navy SEALs are the special elite force that only individuals can enter more than dream. For many people the mere mention conjures up images of operations heroic covert reconnaissance missions, and while many people aspire to be a part of it, some even to survive the harsh training necessary to make the cut. The records of the hallmarks of the U.S. Navy are filled with many success stories missions, daring rescues, and phenomenal feats so much so that there are myths and legends out there that need to be separated to highlight the truth.
Myth About Women Navy SEALs
You've probably heard some people say they know women who are Navy SEALs, well the truth is that no women Navy SEALs, it is likely it is a Marine wife. The truth is that the seals of the Navy did not hire women, men, let women are only able to pass fitness stringent physical requirements needed to be a SEAL.
Hell Week
During the rigorous training for conditioning base to become Navy SEAL in the fourth week is known as the legendary "Hell Week." During this period students are subject to five days and five nights of incessant training with a total of only four hours of sleep. Far training and obedience to orders for five days and a half period are vital elements of a Navy SEAL training to ensure that future operations are not committed and that the U.S. Navy SEALs are able to operate outside the temperature, the land and personal physical comfort.
Legends
World renowned for is probably one of the most resistant of the Special Forces to complete the Navy SEALs have been several people who are legends in their own right thanks to training, discipline and skills acquired through various missions as the Navy SEALs. Former Navy SEAL Richard Marcinko, Chris Cassidy, Jesse Ventura and Chuck Pfarrer, to name a few are veterans who have achieved a lot and have literally raised the bar of achievement through their successes.
